ETHIOPIA: Ethiopian Roads Construction Corporation received Road Project

An agreement has been signed between Ethiopian Roads Construction Corporation and Roads Authority of Ethiopiafor construction of Road in Benshangul Gumuz Regional State costing around 767 million birr.

Yeneneh Aseffa Operations Manager of ERCC and Zaid Weldegabriel Director of the ERA signed the agreement for the project.

The construction is part of three road projects costing around 1.5 billion birr awarded by roads authority on 29th December.

The road project is to accomplished in two phases; Begondi-Wenbera (41.5km) costing around 400 million birr and Guba-Begondi (74km) costingaround 367 million birr to make up a total of 115 km.

The cost of construction at each phase will be different due to vary in material costs and volume of the work required as commented by Samson Wondimu Head of Information and Public Relations at ERA.

As per the agreement the construction will commence in four months.

It has been planned that 60% of roads will be gravel and remaining will be covered with double bituminous surface treatment.

The project is expected to be finalized in three and a half years according to sources at ERA.

The History of Hawd and Reserve in Somali

This is a Historical Background of Hawd  and Reserve Area . Unlike  distorted Ogaden historical narration, Somali Region ( Somali Galbeed) has had two historical moments:The Ogaden in 1948 and The Hawd  and Reserve Area in 1954. Omar Arteh, one of the seasoned somali diplomats narrated on the historical moment of Hawd  and Reserve Area in 2000.
